So today I am writing about something that is VERY important and such a worthy cause. I first heard about this from my future mother in law Robyn...
There is a little boy in Airdrie, 3 years old and he is battling a rare form of cancer. He was diagnosed in January of this year. Christian was diagnosed with stage three, level three rhabdomyosarcoma cancer, a rare form that makes up only four per cent of children's cancer cases. Each and every Tuesday, the Crowell family makes the trek into Calgary for a round of chemotherapy treatment. Every third Tuesday they stay overnight for an intense treatment with three different drugs. He will be taking these treatments for 43 weeks straight. What a tough little guy!
This little boy is so strong and he needs your help like so many other brave kids fighting this horrible disease. A cause close to the family's heart is the OneMatch Bone Marrow Registry because the family waited to see if the cancer had spread into Christian's blood or bone marrow. The family is hoping to get 1,000 people to register for the program before June 30, 2011. You can register at onematch.ca and then leave a message on christiansfight.blogspot.com to let them know you registered. I have done it, will you?
Also, on May 14th in Airdrie at Western RV they are doing a poker night and all money raised will go to the family. You can play in the tournament or you can just make a donation! Anyone looking to make a donation or to register for poker can contact Clow or Robyn Nash at Western R.V. Country at 403-912-2634. Or you can also make a donation to a trust account at TD bank in Christian Crowell's name.
